Route Description

Back for 2026, the 300B. Essentially this is the 400A without the trip over to Tregaron.

This allows cyclists to venture as far north as the 400A and 600D. So you still get to cycle out of Llandrindod Wells down to Newbridge-on-Wye following the lanes and tracks to and through the Elan Valley – where there will be friendly faces at a checkpoint offering you plenty of encouragement. Then the “Mohican” road, the picturesque Haffren forest, see the Dylyfe valley, the seemingly endless drop into Machynlleth. A chance to experience the breathtaking vistas over the Barmouth estuary and deep onto North Wales. Crest and descend Bwlch Oerddrws to Dinas Maldwydd – in preparation for ascending the legendary Bwlch-y-Groes and then the tranquillity of lake Vyrnwy. Then after suitable refuelling at the Abertridwr control, heading south ona cross country venture to Newtown for a final pit-stop and the climb out of town and the long descent towards arriveé at Highland Moors.
